My Hamburger!

My Christmas Present from Abby! I squeaked my hamburger for 2 days straight and finally got to the squeaker..That's my goal...to get out the squeaker in squeaky toys! I ate right through the burger.

Christmas

Santa brought me a present!! It has a plastic bottle inside...it's fun to crunch on it.

First Snow

12.03.09......My first snow storm! At first I was not sure about all of this white stuff, but I soon realized that it's fun to play in the snow. I love running around, chasing the kids. digging in the snowbanks and eatting the icicles!Back inside, with snow on my nose.

My new toy

Wow, it's been quite awhile since my last update. I am feeling better now...I'm back to normal! Since I passed all of the socks, I started gaining weight and can finally wear the collar that Blake picked out for me. I am now considered a LARGE dog...I still have plenty of growing to do to get to the X-LARGE category! Here I am playing with my new rope toy. I shredded my little dog one and now have the big dog rope!

11.06.09...Today was a BAD day. I gave everyone a big scare. I got up as usual, ate and went along to take the kids to school. In the car, I sat in the backseat whinning (which I normally don't do). When we got back home, I jumped out of the car and threw up. Mom thought that I maybe ate my breakfast too fast. Within an hour, I was throwing up again. After that, I needed to rest. I slept for an hour and woke up not feeling well...again. I threw up and out came two baby socks...then another sock and a piece of a red toy. I almost made it to the door to go outside and another sock came out along with a piece of plastic. Mom was freaking out!

I spent the rest of the afternoon sleeping...not wanting to eat, drink or even go outside. Mom called the vet and I had to go in right away. I had some x-rays done and the vet said it looked like my intestines were shutting down and that I would probably have to have surgery. They couldn't tell if anything was still in me, but said that they were pretty sure that something was in there. I came home to sleep and to figure out what to do.

That night I was outside and I was able to pass the remaining contents in my stomach...another sock and the laytex top to one of Victoria's old Sippy Cups! Those tops were thrown away over a month ago...so I was caught red handed for sneaking one out of the garbage!

In the morning, I woke up feeling SO much better. I spent the whole day running and playing!! It feels so good not to have all of these things in my stomach. I am not allowed to stay out of my kennel anymore while Mom has to run errands...even though I promised that I will behave!

6 Months Old

10.12.09...Today is my 6 month Birthday! I got a "Dino Bone" to eat...it's soooooo good!! I'm starting to get into a bit of trouble now and then. I don't know why I have to listen when we are outside. I like to visit the people across the street and any dog that walks by our house. Mom and Dad don't like it when I run to say "hi" to everyone...I'm just being friendly!!

A snack

Mom made the mistake of opening my bag of food and then walking away...I decided to help myself to a snack before dinner!! It was delicious =)

Now it's time to take a rest...I'm full!!

Getting Taller

I like to look out the window to see what is going on...here I am standing on the radiator on the other side of the couch...works out pretty nicely.

Toys!

Mom went to the store to get me a new bag of food and came him with some new toys too!! They're fun! I like to squeak the hotdog and chew on the Kong. The kong feels good on my teeth. I am almost done losing my baby teeth!One of my favorite games is to put the Kong in my mouth and then fling it across the room...it usually bounces about 3 times and then I run and jump to go and get it! It's more fun to play by myself...I always forget to bring it back when someone else throws it for me!

Look...I can even play with them both at the same time!!

My Food

I am starting to eat only kibble again now. Mom and Dad are glad that I am able to tollerate the kibble again. It took a lot of time to prepare my food and with me eating 3-4 pounds of Chicken a day, they say that I am a really expensive dog. My kibble is all natural and it tastes like fish!

While I was on my special diet here are some of my favorite meals that I got to eat...They all have flaxseed, bonemeal & fish oil mixed into them.

This one is Eggs, Green Beans and Oatmeal.

Driving

Last night I was helping Mom clean out the Van...This is my favorite spot to sit! Pretty soon I won't fit here anymore!

Laundry Bed

What is more comfy than a pile of dirty bedding?! Mom was changing the bedding on the kids beds and put everything that needed to be washed in a pile on the kitchen floor...It made a very nice bed!

No More Kibble

I'm starting to feel much better. I have been completely off of kibble since last week Thursday. I tried 4 different kinds...the last one being the special digestive formula. As long as I don't eat kibble, my tummy (for now) seems to be better. Mom's been cooking my meals...and they are so yummy! I get chicken & turkey, beans, pumpkin, carrots, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, etc...all mixed with special vitamins so I stay healthy!

If I am feeling this good next week I can go in to have my 3 shots that I need. They couldn't give them to me last week because I was sick.

Keep your fingers (and paws) crossed that It was just the food making me sick.

Being sick bites!

08/21/09 Well, I've been up all night with diarrhea. Mom stayed up with me and let me outside every 20 minutes! I have to stay away from food & treats for 12 hours and then start a bland diet again. If this doesn't work, there may be something serious going on and I will have to go in for more tests. That doesn't sound like too much fun...

So today, my goal is to drink a lot...so I don't get dehydrated. Don't want to go through that again! Wish me luck!

I got mail!!

I got a package in the mail!! I tried opening it myself, but Mom said I couldn't eat cardboard. Inside the box was my new elevated food/water bowls! This should also help with my food digestion. It was so exciting!!They're out of the box, so I try them out...Where's the food?!
I got a waterproof mat for under my bowls too...
Now, they're set up, so I try it out again...still no food.

Time for dinner...There's actually food in the bowl now! I was very impatient when Mom was washing the bowls. I knew that they were mine, and I wanted them.

Upset Stomach Again...

Why don't I feel good?!?! I was feeling great after coming home from the hospital...then all of a sudden, I started to feel crummy again. My stomach hurts again. I'm now back on medicine and just started a new food this morning. Hopefully that will help! This food has only one protein source...FISH...so it should help with my digestion. Keep your fingers and paws crossed that this will be what I need.

Feeling better

08.08.09 I am finally feeling much better!! I had a rough couple of days and am glad to be home. I still wasn't feeling too good on Thurday, so I had to go to the doctor. Since I had been so sick, I had to get a fluid injection (under my fur) for dehydration. It looked like a giant water-balloon under the fur on my back. I got some medicine that I was told to take 2 times a day. One of my pills was the size of a 1/2 dollar! I was also supposed to start a very bland diet, to help my tummy get better.


After being home for about 4 hours, I started feeling really yucky again. I didn't have any energy, it hurt to stand up and I couldn't stop shaking. Mom and Dad immediately said that I had to go back to the doctor. Well...my doctors office was closed, so I had to go to the hospital. They told me right away that I needed to get an I.V. and would have to stay overnight. Cynrae was very sad to leave me there, but the doctor let her go back and see where I was going to sleep.


After some x-rays, pain meds, I.V.'s and special food, I was ready to go back home. They did see something in my stomach on the x-ray, but it didn't seem to be a problem. Looks like I have a bacterial infection. When everyone came to pick me up, I was SO EXCITED to see them. The fluids they gave me made me feel so much better. I came home and have been more of a puppy than I've ever been! I have so much energy! I am trying to remember the rules at home too...being gone for 24 hours is enough time to forget a few things.

Sick Puppy

08.05.09 Today I am not feeling well. I woke up around midnight with a huge mess in my crate. I tried so hard to be good...but I just couldn't help it. I have to take it easy today and hopefully my tummy feels better tomorrow...if not, it's off to the doctor. They say I could be allergic to my food, maybe I ate some bad dirt or maybe I got a bit of heat stroke. I'm hoping it's just a 24 hour bug and I will be back in buisness tomorrow. Mom took away my bones and rawhides and I really want them back! We'll wait and see.

Playing with Fred

07.27.09 My Playdate with Fred...

Fred, my 1 year old Mastiff friend, came over to play with me in my backyard. It was SO MUCH FUN! Everyone said that I looked really small next to Fred...just wait...I'm still growing!! I will probably be taller than him, but weigh about the same. I can't wait to play with him again. Next time we'll go to the doggie park! Yeah! Fred's head is HUGE!My head is about as big as his tounge!!

Skateboarding

I am very interested in Blake's skateboard. It is fun to step on and off of it. I know that it should move, but it doesn't go anywhere on the grass. Maybe when I can get my balance on the board, I can move to the driveway. How cool would it be for a dog to skateboard??

1 week at home!

Well, it's official...I've been here for 1 week now. I'm learning lots of new things and getting used to my new home. I like wearing my collar now and walking on a leash isn't so bad. I have my very own jewelry for my collar too. I am listening better when I'm told to sit and come. I do have my moments when I choose not to listen and run the other way...Mom and Dad don't like that too much, but I think it's pretty funny! What can I say, I'm still a baby!!

I love my crate and only get up once during the night...usually around 3:30. Then I'm up for the day around 6:45. This potty training thing is harder than I thought it would be. I'm learning that it's not okay to go potty in the house. Yesterday, I only had one accident...so that's pretty good, right? I get treats for going potty too...that's really cool! I love my treats!!

I have lots of toys and things to chew on. My favorite toy was my stuffed Monkey...but I accidently chewed off his arm this morning. Oops!

Picking Daisies

I was sitting by the flowerpot so nicely this afternoon, so Mom decided to take my picture. Well, when she went to grab the camera...I thought that I would just try and pick one for her! Well, she didn't like that at all.....I was just trying to be nice! Mom says I can't touch her flowers anymore...but they're so pretty!

My first visit to the Vet

07.20.09 Today was my first visit to the vet. It was fun. My Mom and my sister, Cynrae, brought me to see Dr. David. I liked him a lot. He said that I was very healthy! Mom was happy to hear that. They treated me like a princess there, and I even got treats!! I had to get 2 shots, but they didn't bother me at all.

They needed to know my weight, so I had to stand on a big scale. At first I tried to bite at it, but I quickly found out it wasn't food. I weighed 27 pounds!

My appointment went great and I can't wait to go back in a month to visit my new friends!

Sleeping Beauty

07.19.09 This is my favorite place to sleep. On the floor...leaning against the couch (since Mom says I'm not allowed to go on the couch). Today I fell asleep on my back with my paws in the air. Everyone thought it was a funny way to sleep...maybe you should try it. I find it quite comfortable!!

Finally at my new home!

07.16.09 Hi, my name is Willow. I am finally home! I am so excited to be with my new family. My new Mom and Dad picked me up from Nekoosa, Wisconsin and we drove a long way home to meet the rest of my new family! Although I did sleep all the way home, it was still a long 3 hours!
I am a blue-merle Great Dane. My Dad was a "blue" and my Mom was a "merle". I was the biggest girl in the litter and am told that I will eventually grow into my paws! I don't want to brag...but my Dad says that I have very pretty markings. I'm not going to disagree...I am very beautiful! I was born on April 12th, 2009.

Being a puppy is so much fun and I am so excited to start learning, playing and hopefully not getting in too much trouble!
